Peraso Inc. (NASDAQ: PRSO) could be positioned for an emerging opportunity across military robotics, autonomous systems and secure tactical communications as the U.S. Army advances its Infantry Last Tactical Mile initiative for robotic tactical resupply, casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and network extension.
The Army recently selected six vendors to advance autonomous ground systems, highlighting a growing military requirement for robotic platforms capable of operating close to frontline forces. While Peraso has not announced involvement in the Army program, the initiative could expand the addressable market for technologies capable of providing secure, high-bandwidth communications between autonomous machines and battlefield operators.
Peraso’s 60GHz mmWave technology uses highly directional beamforming and is being positioned for Low Probability of Intercept/Detection (LPI/LPD), resistance to interference and jamming, low-latency communications and multi-gigabit data transmission—capabilities potentially suited for military robots carrying cameras, LiDAR and other data-intensive sensors.
The opportunity builds on Peraso’s existing defense momentum. Its technology was previously selected by Israeli defense contractor InTACT for a drone Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) platform, followed by an initial limited-production shipment. Peraso has also introduced the compact PRM2145 60GHz module, targeting UAVs, defense and autonomous systems.
As militaries increasingly deploy UGVs, UAVs, autonomous logistics platforms and AI-enabled battlefield systems, Peraso could potentially participate without manufacturing the vehicles themselves by providing the high-speed communications layer connecting autonomous platforms. Additional design wins and production deployments could further expand the company’s developing military and Edge AI growth opportunity.
