DALLAS TX., Oct 16, 2026 – Blue Biofuels, Inc. (OTCQB: BIOF) is advancing toward commercial renewable-fuel production as a new Harbinger Research report highlights its patented Cellulose-to-Sugar (CTS) technology, potential cost advantages and plans to supply the sustainable aviation fuel market.
The report examines the company’s progress through pilot development, Department of Energy-supported scale-up and process optimization. Upcoming milestones include continuous integrated demonstrations, commercial engineering, permitting and project construction.
Turning Agricultural Materials Into Transportation Fuels
Blue Biofuels’ CTS process converts cellulose from King Grass, sugarcane bagasse, corn stover and other agricultural residues into fermentable sugars used to produce cellulosic ethanol. The approach targets abundant biomass sources while reducing reliance on food crops.
The company identifies three potential cost advantages: conversion efficiency, productive energy crops and integration with downstream fuel production. It reports ethanol yields of 85–92 gallons per ton of feedstock and estimates King Grass could support 3,000–4,000 gallons per acre. Management believes the crop’s productivity and year-round harvesting potential could lower acreage, storage and transportation requirements.
Through VertiBlue Fuels, its 50:50 joint venture with Vertimass, Blue Biofuels plans to convert ethanol into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), renewable gasoline and other renewable hydrocarbons. The strategy would connect biomass production with finished fuels while pursuing applicable credits and incentives. Reported yields and projected cost advantages remain subject to commercial validation.
Florida Site Provides a Foundation for Development
According to the report, Blue Biofuels has secured a 35-acre production site in Frostproof, Florida. Former citrus acreage could provide opportunities for energy-crop cultivation, although broader expansion would require land access, financing, approvals and demonstrated operating economics.
Public Companies Highlight the Broader Renewable-Fuels Opportunity
Blue Biofuels joins a sector that includes Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEVO), which operates a low-carbon ethanol business and is developing an alcohol-to-jet SAF project, and Alto Ingredients, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALTO), a producer and distributor of specialty alcohols, renewable fuels and essential ingredients. These companies provide industry context across renewable-fuel technologies and stages of commercialization.
For Blue Biofuels, the next significant development is demonstrating that its biomass conversion process can operate continuously and support the engineering and financing needed for commercial construction.
